  1. It's honorable to involve the existing community, but, If I understand your proposal, Twitter network or any other 'one' network for that matter should be out of the question, besides security issues twitter went down just the other day. The validation process can not depend on any company or entity, or it's not decentralized. Companies like twitter can be disrupted or disallowed in any country. Are we trying to prevent slowing down transactions, increasing transaction fees, And preserving the only edge XRP has on it's competitors? wouldn't both proposals do the same, anyway?

  2. No! no no no! If people can do it by cell phones, then ok. If you need a expensive computer to do so, then here we go with blocking out the little guy. No level playing field huh? The system is young and is far more decentralized than BTC. Come on people!!!

  3. with respect, your logic is flawed here. A small financial return would not incentivize individuals over "Big Miners", but rather the reverse. Those with resources could run a validator far more cheaply, (think using Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS to run a whole bunch of them) and make it less time-consuming than individuals ever could. They could make any incentive work to their advantage. An individual, getting a small thimbleful of rewards per month is not gonna all the sudden decide that it is worth it for them. They'd do it for free anyway.

  4. Why would the community want to tip validators? Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense I’m my opinion. Doesn’t seem like there’s any incentive there….sorry

  5. I like the idea and want to add to it. Rather than counting on people to use the tipbot to tip a validator address directly, how about Wietse takes a small percentage of all XRP tipbot tips that are sent to any person and then sends those tips to the validators? This way we don't have to hope people tip validators. It'll happen automatically when any kind of tipbot tip is sent
