  1. DAI: Appreciate all you’ve contributed to the community but I respectfully disagree about the Ledger Nano S. I allowed one of their updates and my Digibyte was never to be seen again. Of course I’ve contacted Support, but they, in essence, referred me to their manual.
I followed the steps, which said I must download Bitcoin app first before Digibyte. Did that and still got nowhere. I again wrote to Support and described what version Windows I had, bits, current version of Nano Ledger S. They then wrote back I had run out of space.
How does one know how much xrp a Ledger will hold?
The only solution I can see is to either purchase a new laptop and have to take the time to set it up and purchase a new cold storage wallet or go to Abra or other site and keep it on the exchange which you’ve recommended we not do. My Trezor has given me headaches as well because it’s constantly bugging me to download updates but I’m terrified of losing what’s on that.
It took me a while to learn to navigate the crypto world when I started last year, but I have managed to wade my way through it. Am trying to download all my stuff for taxes right now and Kucoin has been the biggest headache for me. Since my tax appointment is next week, I’ll either have it together or I won’t. This has made me want to stick with just a couple/few exchanges this year to reduce the headaches of pulling it all together next year. I’m not sure how one even does record keeping since you purchase in fiat and have to buy something else to send it to, say, Binance. It’s truly inefficient and I’m glad more opportunities will be coming up for trade and storage.
I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “you don’t know what you don’t know.” While I thought I had found my solution in cold wallets, it’s created other headaches that no one bothers talking about.
As more people come into this space, hopefully they will find it a bit easier than I did. It’s imperative for mass adoption that exchanges make this process as easy as possible or people will run screaming to the exits.
