The way I see it is that when I sell I will be doing so in increments as the price rises. My hope is to get somewhere between $500K – $1M on this cycle by selling about 75% of my holdings. Then I'll wait for the inevitable 95% drop in the price and buy more while enjoying the large chunk of money I already earned. I'll DCA in over the bear market years and hopefully gain more than I did on this cycle and will hold until the next cycle which will hopefully go much higher. For me this isn't a once and done thing where I buy for a few years, sell once and quit forever. If it goes well this will be my job, buying when the price is down, holding for years and selling on the way up.
